Hello,
Just letting everyone know that I am available for full time work, ready
to start immediately. I've been doing IT for about 15+ years. I'm
usually titled the IT Manager, but other titles I've had are IT Director
and Sr. Network Administrator. It seems the titles change a bit, but
most of the work has been the same -- responsible for the day to day
operations of a company's network and phones, as well as the Help Desk
and Desktop Support group. While I have managed groups large and small,
I've also been the lone IT guy. Each scenario has its advantages. I'm
primarily a Windows guy, so Server 200x, XP, Exchange, ISA/TMG, SQL
installs/mgmt., IIS, backups, remote access, etc. I've done complete
server room buildouts, and I know just enough Cisco to be dangerous. At
my last 2 places, I've had the luxury of learning virtualization from
VMware and Citrix/Xenserver, using it in a disaster recovery scenario at
a distant collo. I've also had the pleasure of setting up SAN's from
Lefthand/HP and Compellent. In fact, the SAN's were a big piece of the
DR scenario. We used some Riverbed WAN optimizers, and I have to tell
you, those things work great. One of the last big projects we did was
setting up a Shoretel VOIP system company-wide...nice.
If you hear of anything big or small, I'd love to hear about it. Thanks
in advance for any help you can give...
