SOLUTION: [sdw2003] How to backup a Buffalo NAS ???

For those who care.

I decided to go with iDrive. Idrive.com

Their software will run as a service on a workstation, even if the user is not logged on, and will backup from a mapped drive (even if the user is not logged on), to any location. However, I am using their online backup which is fairly inexpensive for the base package. 4.95 /mo.

Thanx for your help.

John,

Yes, since then it will show up as a local drive. But...

Modern NAS units are starting to support iSCSI, but it opens a whole
new can of worms. Multiple machines cannot connect to them
simultaneously, which is what most clients are aiming for when they
get a NAS. Then the data would have to be shared from the device that
is connecting to it via iSCSI, and at that point, you might as well
just have a full blown file server, instead of a NAS.
