I think we hit every edge of this and it didn't resolve out.  Thank you all
for filling the gaps for me.

I know it is OS that caused it.  After reinstall it worked.  That doesn't
excuse a conflict with Lenovo hardware as the problem, but I can't finger it
either.

All the things I did in the pursuit of a joy full solution.
I have removed the nic and the wireless devices and reinstalled them.
Reset winsock  and IP stack with  netsh..

 I ran the fixit.msi offered there with no change after boot.   winsock as
well.
Checked browser  proxy settings auto detect....
reset IE to default settings as well
I manually assigned IP addresses and gateway
I uninstalled TCP/IP and reinstalled on both network devices.
Restarted related services as well.  Trying everything...
checked the host file
Try logging on as another user, just in case it is a profile thing.
Shutoff Firewall and AV.
