Have you thought about winsock? We haven't had this for a while, but look at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/811259. (ignore the bs on the top of page) , bottom of page

If that doesn't cut it for you, then search "winsock repair"
work is this corruption occurs after "cleaner have been used on a box.
