We've not seen any delivery issues with new Dell servers in the last couple months (another one on the way now). What model did you order? We did get one for a client last month (PE T310) that needed a new MB right away due to an issue with an onboard function that did not work as advertised.

Hi Andrew - sorry to hear about your Dell woes. I've never had that problem with them - always gotten my shipments before the promise date.
If you really mean SBS 2008 (as opposed to Windows Server 2008) for a trial edition, then the only way to get settings transferred is to migrate. However, consider this - if you're setting up Active Directory, you CAN get that set up on the trial edition of *Windows Server 2008* (plain vanilla server) and then join the Dell SBS 2008 (when it arrives) to that domain. But, even if you do that, there will still be mailbox creation on the Dell SBS 2008 for every user.

Hey All,
I am having a problem with Dell. We ordered a Server from them
three weeks ago, and I go an email today saying that the order is delayed
again. At this rate I will be a month from the order date that is comes it.
Is anybody else having orders delayed from Dell?
The real question is this. If I setup a trial edition of Windows
2k8 on a temp server, could I transfer everything over to the dell server
once it comes in? I have read a technet article about transferring to
different hardware, but I am not sure about transitioning from the trial
edition to an OEM edition. Anybody tried this before. I really need to get
this system setup for my client. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Andrew Wright
