I believed you are correct on the Windows 7 version (Enterprise and
Ultimate) that support DirectAccess. I have not play with it, yet. Since
fron what I read ...you will need to beef up your client and servers to
support it:
1. All workstations need to run Windows 7 ENT or Ultimate version
2. A server running Windows Server 2008 SP2 or 2008 R2 (on the DirectAccess
server that serves to bridge traffic between the Intranet and the Internet)
3. A domain controller/DNS server must be running either Windows Server 2008
SP2 or 2008 R2 because the DNS service needs to support AAAA records for
IPv6 nodes.
FYI, VMware just released VMware WorkStation 7 that fully support Windows 7
and 2008. Interested, that their (VMware and MS) versions are the same "7".
