[sdw2003] Re: More info on servers from defunct ISP... (James Eitzen)

James, to answer your question regarding warranty...

I suspect that these are just old enough that the original warranty no
longer applies. However, after working at a computer store ages and ages
ago, I know that warranties can still be had after an inspection by the
dealer selling the contract (just to verify the machine is fully
operational).

Other than that, I would imagine that it is possible that the original
warranty could still apply, but I am doubtful (I really don't know for
certain).

However, I do have faith in them running well for the sole reason that
they've all been burned in for an extended period of time, and the liklihood
of anything failing...it would have failed already. Also, my friend is
offering his own 15-day warranty when they are bought in quantities of two
or more.

And, for what it is worth, if you were to encounter any problems right up
front, I can swap out the system with one of the others that I currently
have. That isn't exactly a "warranty," but it does afford a little piece of
mind in terms of not getting any junk.

Hopefully, I did not confuse with all that, but do feel free to give me a
call, or e-mail, if you have any other questions or concerns.
