[sdw2003] 1st Annual SandCHI Tech Social - +FTTH

ATT ran fiber down my street, in Mission Bay Park, around 9 years ago. When
I walk out my door, look across the street, I can see ATT's green sheet
metal monument. The fiber is under concrete on the other side of the street,
salesman said to get to my house, it would be copper from fiber. I heard, a
while back, Fiber TTH is in use in Encinitas area. I guess the better
abbreviation is FTTC, fiber to the curb. Meaning, the last leg is copper.
Salesman did not say when ATT would light up dark fiber on my street.

For all the years I paid premium $ for ATT landline, you have to figure,
they made enough money off us to buy a node or two!

FTTH? In San Diego? Where? Alas, I'm in Poway where Cox cable is the
only choice. I can't even get DSL. And I'm right near the main drag.
