[sdw2003] eSATA adapter in Win2K3 server

Does anyone have an eSATA adapter/drive combination that works consistently for them? 

I took over a client that had a StarTech adapter with a Seagate Xtreme drive; couldn't see the drive.

After researching the issue, I found that Seagate listed two boards that were known to work with the drive. I purchased and installed the Siig 2-port eSATA II-150; the server locked up after a couple of days. 

Siig support says get a different drive, that Seagate is flakey. He also said that you should go with PCI Express cards as the PCI cards are inconsistent.

Any suggestions?
