[sdw2003] How would you go about this?

Acronis works pretty good, avoid using it to create base images for machines
that are already domain attached.

Check out their snap deploy server, pretty awesome, especially if you are on
gig and your clients support wol magic packets.  It has a built in pxe
server.  We can even use it to capture Wyse XPE images.

Also note that vmware converter that ships with vsphere recognizes .tib
files as source for P2V.
