Response from MS regarding registration site issues:

Dear Karen,

Thank you for your email. At this time, Click to Attend v1.0 which publishes all Microsoft Group Events only supports IE, however we do have a newer version of Click to Attend, v2.0, which supports several other browsers. In the future we hope to transition MGE over into CTA v2.0, however the date has yet to be determined.

We will keep you posted and hope to have the current CTA v1.0 transitioned in FY09. In the interim, please let me know if I can be of any other assistance.

Warm regards,

Ashley Bird

So you're a multi-browser kind of guy :) IE with do the trick. It's an M$ registration site and you know how they can be. Sorry for the hassle. Eric can help if you continue to have issues.

I first tried clicking the link in Karen's posted msg, which launched Firefox. Noticed the .aspx and then tried IE. No workee. "Unseriously", I then thought maybe I should try Safari or maybe Opera.

Safari might not work. How about trying good old Internet Explorer? (you are not alone - a few people have had problems registering)

I want to register but the clicktoattend link doesn't seem to work. Do I
have to use the Safari browser for it to work? :-)

Don't miss the Windows Networking Solutions User Group (www.winsug.org)
meeting at Coleman College in San Marcos next month. Start your planning
for June 5th now. It will be a Vista Extravaganza! Everyone calm down
and take a deep breath. As the WiNSUG President ('El Presidente'), I
know that the one thing everyone has been asking for is putting more M$
Vista in your life. Think of it as making Tabasco the new Visine. But
seriously, here is why you should attend.

* M$ MVP Steve Rose will be speaking. I saw his Vista
presentation at the Microsoft office in Irvine to an audience of 100 or
more, and Karen and I were so blown away with the great job he did, we
grabbed him as a speaker. This is not a big "fluff and sales
presentation." This is all meat and a giant bone to chew on. Steve is a
high energy, fast talker who knows his stuff. Vista and SP1 will both
be covered. You will get plenty of details, great information and access
to a guy that can answer your questions.

*        M$ & Culminis have engineered a "Vista Re-launch Campaign". I
know this sounds a bit odd but they really want you to take another
look. After all, most of us will run into Vista somewhere along the way,
are currently using it or may need to seriously consider it in a Windows
2008 network.

* M$ & Culminis is saying come take another look by providing
SWAG to this event. Including some free software and other giveaways.

* M$ & Culminis is supporting this event by buying a REAL DINNER
for this event! It won't be catered, but it ain't cold pizza either. We
have been given a VERY generous food budget and plan on spending it. We
can accommodate up to 100 attendees (but you must register in advance).

* This is the four year anniversary of WiNSUG and my 40th
birthday party too!

* The cost for all of the above? FREE

You must sign up and register! We need to know how much food to get! Go
here: https://www.clicktoattend.com/invitation.aspx?code=128515
<https://www.clicktoattend.com/invitation.aspx?code=128515> You can
also find the link to register on the WiNSUG website at www.winsug.org.

The meeting will start early this time, with a food and networking party
starting from 5:30pm to 6:30pm, and the presentation starting shortly
after.

Hope to see you there!
