[sdw2003] W2K3 and USB floppies

So I can get the W2K3 installer to see the RAID drivers on my floppy.
It let me partition the hard disk and proceeded to format it. After
accepting the license, it sits there and then warns me about a CD or
disk that might be damaged, I should try another copy. Hitting enter
prompts me to insert my floppy. When I hit enter there, it doesn't even
try to access the floppy... no lights, no noise, no nothing. It says
Please wait... for a couple of minutes, and then warns me about a
damaged disk again.

It looks like it managed to completely forget about the USB floppy
drive, and maybe it thinks it's trying to talk to a regular floppy? I
don't know, but I am stuck. What can I try to move on? Is there some
reasonable way for me to just slipstream the driver for the RAID
controller into an image of the CD and skip the floppy entirely? Or
would that require a half-dozen advanced degrees in atomic rocket
surgery?
