[sdw2003] Need some RAM !

Jackson,
I am aware of local shops. I go through a lot of hardware, often local
shops do not have the quantity I am looking for, but can order it. Our
typical supplier/builder is local, exceptionally responsive and provides
fast builds and keeps lots of what we use in stock. However, for some
reason, they have high RAM prices. So we buy the extra RAM (anything not
part of the original system builds) elsewhere.
In regard to The Chip Merchant, I just looked at their site. They do
not list the specific RAM we use in quantity, in the sizes we use
(Kingston ValueRAM DDR2-667 in 1G and 2G single sticks). They list the
1G sticks only. The price is equal to what it will be when my order
arrives from NewEgg, after shipping.
Most local shops, except the one I use for our server builds usually do
not carry enough in stock to satisfy my periodic need to restock on RAM.
Most shops stock only one or two deep on everything... although maybe
more on RAM. They count on turning a slim stock over quickly. This
doesn't work well for my specific needs.
I am all for the local shops, especially the one we use. They provide
us with excellent service and provide great value... and do slowly
improve even on that. I have several hundred servers from them, and I
plan on a few thousand more... if we are that fortunate. :o)
